Prescriptions

Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in the following ways:

  • In person - drop your repeat slip (which is the right hand side of your prescription) in at reception or at the pharmacy in Lauder with the required items clearly marked.
  • By post - send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you.
  • On-line Patient Access - via the link at the top of this page. This is the preferred option to order your repeat prescriptions.  You can now register for EMIS Patient Access to order medication. Please complete the application form below or collect one from Reception to register and if successful your application will be approved and you will receive your log on details.
Download the online access application form

Any issues when using  EMIS Patient Access - please refer to the online 'Technical Support on the EMIS Patient Access home page - they are there to help with any technical queries.

We prefer patients not to telephone the Surgery with medication requests as it takes up a phone line when someone in urgent need could be trying to access a doctor.  If you need to speak to someone about your repeat medications, please phone the Practice which you usually attend (Stow or Lauder) after 11am.

Once you have requested your medication please allow 6 working days before your medication can be collected either at the Lauder Pharmacy or Stow Health Centre Dispensary.

Dispensing

  • Lauder -  there is a Pharmacy in Lauder;  telephone number 01578 722302
  • Stow - the Stow Health Centre has a Dispensary where you will be able to collect your medications.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a Doctor or our Practice Nurse at least once a year for a review of your regular medications. When your annual review is due a printed or hand written notification should appear on your prescription repeat slip.

We would be very grateful if you could book an appropriate appointment at the soonest opportunity to enable us to perform this review and to make sure you remain on the correct medication. Please contact the Practice if you have any concerns or questions about your repeat medication.

PLEASE HELP US TO DISPOSE OF YOUR UNWANTED AND OUT-OFDATE MEDICINES1. RECYCLE ANY CARDBOARD PACKAGING AT HOME. Please put any cardboard or paper packaging in your recycling bin at home. Your local pharmacy cannot accept the outer packaging of your medicines.2. PUT EMPTY FOIL BLISTER PACKS IN YOUR GENERAL WASTE BIN. Please put empty foil blister packs in your general waste bin – these cannot be recycled in the Borders. Please put clean glass bottles in your local bottle bank. 3. BRING UNWANTED / OUT-OF-DATE MEDICINES (IN THEIR CONTAINERS) TO YOUR LOCAL PHARMACY. Please bring unwanted or out-of-date/expired medicines to your local community pharmacy – in their blister packs or bottles - without the outer cardboard packaging/paper bags.Unused medicines cannot be re-used and are incinerated – please review the medicines you request – together we can reduce waste, save NHS money and our environment. THANK YOU FOR HELPING US TO SAFELY DISPOSE OF YOUR UNWANTED MEDICINES
